For our conspiracy theory topic paper, im writing about the 2012 apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans. The Mayans created one of the most accurate calendars for its time. After historians translated old tablets they found that the Mayans believed that the world would end on December 21, 2012. i chose this because it was a really controversial topic at the time, people were making a lot of money off movies and books because they were a hit with the public. everyone was in a panic.
