as someone who never really went out anyways I can honestly say this still sucks. there’s just something about staying home when you’re forced to. knowing you’re not allowed to do something just makes you want to do it even more. I understand why were practicing social distancing though, I’m not just thinking selfishly. but previously when I was a homebody by choice at least I had school to distract me, hangouts with friends and errand runs with my mom.
a quick summary of my day consist of me falling asleep at 7 am, waking up at 5pm, cooking then repeat. I feel like I’m slowly going insane. I cant wait for the day when lockdown is lifted and I can finally see all my friends. I’ve been trying to distract myself until it does come, I’ve been playing Roblox on my old account and re watching my favorite Netflix shows. eventually that got boring too, I tried to even focus on my self care but I got lazy. through quarantine I’ve grown to be bored of using my phone, which meant id randomly turn my phone off for a while and stare at a ceiling. it wasn’t any better, but at least it was something.
I hope the next following weeks get better, I really wanted to make this summer memorable since im moving.

three things i dislike about the research paper process:
its very time consuming to go through, read and take down notes from each source. considering that a research paper also needs a reasonable amount of evidence.
2. Writing
i constantly find myself at a loss for words while writing any paper. my mind just goes blank while i attempt to push myself to overcome this barrier. eventually time goes by and i end up sitting there with no work done.
3. My topic
researching and writing my paper is also more challenging when i dislike the topic. if i dont find the topic interesting, i have no motivation. when it comes to writing i prefer a topic im passionate about so i can go on and on without feeling like the only reason im writing this paper is because of a grade.
For our conspiracy theory topic paper, im writing about the 2012 apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans. The Mayans created one of the most accurate calendars for its time. After historians translated old tablets they found that the Mayans believed that the world would end on December 21, 2012. i chose this because it was a really controversial topic at the time, people were making a lot of money off movies and books because they were a hit with the public. everyone was in a panic.

i struggled with starting the essay because i didn’t prep beforehand with the graphic organizer. It took me some time to adjust but once i began writing i quickly caught on with the flow. Id say i was pretty successful with writing off the top of my head, which is something i typically struggle on. What i learned from this topic was how different appeals and techniques are used in order to reach certain specific audiences.
The class was given a topic “guinea pigs”, we had to present guinea pigs to a randomly selected audience. whether we had to inform, persuade or entertain. different audiences means the form of communication must change. for an example my group must persuade 4th graders to buy guinea pigs. which is simple, the 4th grade mind isn’t looking for actual scientific facts. they want to just to have fun. what they’re looking for is they cute fuzzy animals. compared to other groups who would have the mission of persuading the U.S congress and doctors. those two groups are looking for actual facts, how guinea pigs affects the people.
i personally do not consider myself a writer because i always found it hard to express my inner thoughts and translate it into real words in a piece of text. its been easier for me to use pictures and/or drawings to reveal these emotions. The only time i usually write is in school and times where i have so much going through my head and when i myself cannot process my feelings. So i tend to put on some music and write for hours in my notes. never to be seen or read by anyone else but me.
when i write, i write about anything or everything that lingers in my mind. whether its relationships, mental health, love etc. whenever i do write willingly, id have to have a passionate flame about the topic. like i previously mentioned, i do not like writing but if i truly believe it’ll help me get everything off my chest id gladly write essays on essays.
if i don’t like writing, why is it one of my coping methods for dealing with all that goes on in my mind? its because when i write for my own personal use. no one is judging me, my writing doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else but me. compared to writing a paper for English.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
